Play

Play is Important

Play is the work of childhood. Through play, children learn about their world and develop many kinds of skills, including social and mental skills.

There’s no right or wrong way to play! Children don’t need expensive toys to have fun. “Basic is better” (like blocks or balls) when choosing toys.

Children simply need:

  1. Physical play outdoors.
  2. Safe places and toys.
  3. Encouragement to experiment and express themselves.
  4. Opportunities to learn on their own and have some control over their own environment.
  5. Connection with other people, including adults and other children.
  6. Screen free zones.
